Consultant in Spinal Surgery

Applications are invited for a full time post of Consultant Spinal Surgeon. The Exeter Spinal Unit covers a wide catchment area and provides routine and the more complex spinal reconstruction surgery for patients from Devon and Cornwall. A full range of spinal disorders ranging from degenerative pathologies through to tumor resection, deformity and reconstruction surgery in all regions of the spine are treated. Exeter Spine Unit is a complex spine hub in the Peninsula Regional Spine Network.

Applicants should be fully trained in general orthopaedics and traumatology or neurosurgery. We are seeking an individual with a major interest and expertise in complex spinal surgery, as well as a commitment to spinal trauma. In addition the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate flexibility.

The successful candidate will form part of the PEOC’s Spinal team and will work alongside Mr. Daniel Chan, Mr Andrew Clarke, Mr Michael Hutton, Mr Shahid Khan and Mr Oliver Stokes (Clinical Lead Spinal Team), Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeons.
