Band 6 Community Physiotherapist with specialism in Pulmonary Rehab – hours negotiable.

We have a new vacancy for a Physiotherapist specialising in Pulmonary Rehab and Community Rehab.

The successful candidate will be expected to run Pulmonary Rehab groups in Okehampton and Crediton. The post is based in Crediton and the post holder will also be providing community rehabilitation for patients in the Crediton area.

We are a friendly team consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers. We work very closely with other professionals such as Speech Therapists, Community Nursing, GPs, the local Social Care Team and the voluntary sector. Our patch covers Crediton, Moretonhampstead and Okehampton, and we have a team in each base.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work as a confident autonomous practitioner. You will need high level clinical assessment and problem solving skills to manage high risk and acutely ill patients in the community. This includes carrying out manual handling assessments.

We require a motivated and committed physiotherapist to join our team who would enjoy the challenge of developing the service to deliver high quality therapy in this area. Our work is varied and covers a broad range of patient presentations including those on the Urgent Care Pathway, Discharge to Assess, orthopaedics, amputees, neurological conditions, falls and long-term conditions.We run balance classes on a weekly basis and are developing our MDT falls intervention rehabilitation programmes across all 3 sites. Patients are seen in their own homes and individually as out-patients or in groups in the hospital or community.

The successful candidate will be provided with regular supervision, PT peer support group and in-service training.There is also a Pulmonary Rehab special interest group for all of the PTs providing Pulmonary Rehab in East and Mid Devon. All applicants must be able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
