B6 Team Lead Occupational Therapist in Inpatient Stroke Management

Hours: 37.5 hours over 5 days to include weekend commitments

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a specialist occupational therapist in stroke in an Acute NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the B7 OT Clinical Lead to provide specialist stroke skills and clinical leadership to the inpatient occupational therapy team working in stroke at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. This post will rotate between the Acute Stroke Unit and Yealm Stroke Rehabilitation ward. At any one time, the post holder will be based in one ward area, supported by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist who holds responsibility for the whole inpatient stroke pathway.

The post holder will directly supervise band 5 staff on rotation and support staff who are static in the team. They will work closely with the rest of the MDT to provide an effective interdisciplinary management for all patients passing through the service and will also be required to provide specialist advice for stroke patients out lied to other wards.

This post would suit an occupational therapist who wants to specialise in stroke. This could be a therapist who has rotational experience and is looking to progress their career, or a therapist who has already specialised in stroke and is looking for a new challenge. This position is based at the Trust's main site, the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford). The post has a commitment to weekend working. The post holder must be able to drive and have access to a road-worthy vehicle.
