An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, energetic, enthusiastic and highly motivated Principal Clinical Scientist to lead the expanding Monogenic Diabetes and Hyperinsulinism (HI) service, and play a key role in the development and future direction of the genomic testing services offered by the department. The successful candidate will have extensive specialist knowledge of the clinical and scientific basis of Monogenic Diabetes and HI and proven experience of working with genomic data. They will be committed to patient-centred service provision through accurate and timely data analysis, interpretation and reporting of genomic information, with the highest quality of attention to detail, to ensure that patient results are delivered in a safe, efficient and innovative way. The post-holders will have excellent communication skills to ensure effective leadership and team-working and ability to communicate complex information at an appropriate level to service users. We invite applications from HCPC-registered Clinical Scientists who have successfully passed the FRCPath part 1 examination in Genetics (or equivalent). Options for job-sharing can be discussed with the Head of Department, Professor Sian Ellard.
