CONSULTANTS in Medical and Clinical Oncology
Closing Date - 9th May 2021
Are you re-evaluating your work-life balance? Would you prefer a stress-free, picturesque commute? With breath-taking countryside, spectacular beaches and vibrant cities, it’s not difficult to understand why Devon is frequently rated as one of the top places to live and work in the UK.
Applications are invited to join the oncology team in Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. We are looking to recruit new consultants to replace staff coming up to retirement and also to allow for ongoing expansion and new research opportunities. You will join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of nineteen consultants providing a full range of non-surgical cancer therapies to our local population. We are looking for a mix of medical and clinical oncology colleagues to complement existing staff and their sub-specialty interests.
There is flexibility for full-time and part-time working. The jobs will be based at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital but will have a sessional commitment at North Devon District Hospital. We are looking in particular for expertise in upper GI, lung and urological oncology and lymphoma radiotherapy. Although other tumour site interests could be accommodated. There is potential for further developing teaching and research links with Exeter University to complement our existing trials portfolio and help us develop the new Peninsula Medical Oncology training programme.
The hospital is situated in central Exeter. This historic city is well served by rail, road and air links. There are a number of Good to Outstanding Ofsted-rated local schools and the Trust has an on-site Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ Nursery.
Applicants must be registered medical practitioners and either be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of completion of specialist training at the date of interview. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dr Kate Scatchard, Clinical Lead (01392 406170) or Dr Jenny Forrest, Radiotherapy Lead (01392 406071) for further discussions.
