Health research supports people to stay well and to achieve better outcomes for patients, which is why the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the University of Exeter are collaborating to deliver more health research for our population. We are now seeking to appoint a QA Manager to work across the Trust and NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility to manage QA systems and processes to ensure compliance with the variety of regulatory statutes, guidelines and protocols as required by the by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the CQC, Health & Safety Executive, the Human Tissue Authority and other regulatory agencies.
You will be a graduate in a relevant biomedical or associated subject with demonstrable experience in a clinical research quality assurance role including SOP writing, conducting audit and monitoring activities. Experience of clinical trial management is essential, together with experience of developing quality management systems to comply with high levels of GCP. In-depth working knowledge of existing UK clinical research structures, GCP, regulatory and ethical systems is also an essential requirement of the role.
Whilst the role is a Band 7 position, we are willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Band 6 (£30,401 - £37,267 p.a.) with responsibilities adjusted accordingly. Development from Band 6 to 7 would be supported with suitable training and clear objectives; it would be expected that progression to Band 7 would be within 9-12 months. A secondment or a job share would be considered for the right candidate. These would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment, where appropriate. Interviews will be held week commencing 14th December 2020.
