Healthcare for Older People is a high profile, progressive specialty which is developing to meet the needs of the local population. We currently have a substantive vacancy, within the Medical Services Division for a highly motivated, dynamic and experienced nurse to lead the team on Ashburn Ward in line with the Trust’s vision.

The overall job purpose of the Matron is to have continuous 24-hour responsibility for leading and co-ordinating the clinical, managerial and educational requirements of ward teams. This includes acting as an expert resource for the Sisters and ward teams to support them in the delivery of high quality, safe and compassionate care. This will require the Matron to adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, their relatives/carers and staff.
