The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) provides acute and community services from around 20 sites over the county, delivered by 8,000 members of staff. The post of Sustainability and Engagement Officer has been created to help deliver sustainability improvements across the organisation. This is a wide reaching role that will be instrumental in making the RD&E a leading healthcare provider in the field of sustainability.

The role would be ideal for a confident, self-starter with a passion for sustainability and engaging with people. The role will be focused on educating, encouraging and supporting staff, patients and other stakeholders through engagement methods; the goal is to drive evidence based sustainability improvements from the ground up. The post holder will be assisting the Energy and Sustainability manager with the ongoing development and delivery of the Sustainable Development Management Plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that is responsible for a wide variety of services including: ward based inpatient care, world leading research facilities, community hospitals, a commercial laundry, laboratories and regional postal services. The role has a broad scope with many opportunities for personal development, indeed the post holder must be keen to learn and develop their knowledge and experience.

Salary: Band 4 (£21,089 - £23,761)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
