Community Health and Social Care Administrator – Community Nursing

This is a new,varied and interesting role within the Community Nursing Teams in Exeter. It is on a two year fixed term basis or two year secondment opportunity. If you are applying as a secondment then please ensure you have the approval of your line manager.

You will primarily be working within Nursing teams on a peripatetic basis within the South and West localities and responsible for preparing files, inputting audit data, archiving clincial notes, stores ordering and general clerical duties which will include, typing and answering telephone calls.

A key element to this role will be input to the various NHS IT systems therefore accuracy and confidentiality are essential, the post holder will be able to demonstrate good IT skills with experience of both Excel and Word which will be used on a daily basis. The role includes processing referrals once triaged by the clinician and updating various databases with accurate patient information. They will also be expected to undertake archiving, and ordering essential stock through EROS.

Communication and people skills are essential, along with a pleasant, helpful, calm manner when dealing with people on a daily basis. An understanding of prioritisation is also helpful.

The postholder will also support the Nursing Teams with the introduction and integration and the IT system MYCARE. Additional tasks would be stationary ordering and undertaking the organisation of team meetings, collecting and collating statistics and typing up minutes. Other areas of work would be general fact finding at the request of the senior admin and clinical team , following up actions as required including dealing with telephone calls to other services as necessary.
