An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent 26 hour Band 6 Physiotherapist to work on the Tiverton Community Hospitalwards, working within a wider multidisciplinary team. The wards are responsible for providing intermediate care and rehabilitation for patients following admission to the acute hospital with the aim to facilitate discharges back into the community in a timely manner.

The post holder will work with different medical conditions including stroke, falls, those with long term conditions, post operations, neurological conditions and generally older frail people. The role will be varied, working with an enabling approach alongside other therapists, nursing staff, social care staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team, to support rehabilitation programmes to enable patients to achieve their goals.

The band 6 Physiotherapist will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, namely rotational band 5 physiotherapists and support workers. Sound clinical skills and experience with rehabilitation and discharge planning are desirable.

The role will include working shift patterns and weekends so that support can be provided throughout the day for activities of daily living and rehabilitation over a 7 day service.

The successful candidate will need to have good IT and communication skills and have the ability to work independently as well as part of the team.
