We have exciting opportunities for experienced Registered Nurses committed to providing high quality patient care and a passion for improving the patient experience to join our team of casual workers here at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Are your family or other commitments preventing you from working full time or to a set working pattern? Can’t commit to a permanent job at present? Need extra money? Want to maintain your professional skills and gain experience in new areas? Then working as part of this team may be the answer for you!

If you are looking for flexible work that can fit around your commitments, then this could be just what you are looking for. We need people who are available to work a variety of shift types, sometimes at short notice. You tell us when you are available to work and we will match this with shift requirements across the Trust.

We know how important it is to have a strong and reliable workforce, both substantive and flexible and our casual workforce team is vital to ensure that our clinical services are able to respond to short term staffing needs. We recognise that one of the benefits to you is that you can choose where and when you want to work and we truly value and appreciate the work you do in helping the Trust to provide excellent quality of care for our patients.

You will need to be a registered nurse with a valid NMC number, self-motivated with excellent communication skills and adaptable to changing situations.

In return we offer:

  • Flexibility – you choose when you work and how often
  • Variety – the opportunity to work on different wards throughout the Trust and gain experience in a variety of areas
  • First choice of available shifts
  • The opportunity to transfer into a permanent post should a suitable vacancy become available
  • Comprehensive paid induction, mandatory updates and training
