This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy NHS Foundation Trust and University Teaching Hospital as a rotational physiotherapist gaining experience in our rotational scheme between the acute Trust based in Exeter and our community services at Tiverton, Exmouth and locally in Exeter. This comes with the added benefit of being in a modern city with a wide range of leisure activities and entertainment facilities. Based within the heart of beautiful Devon and just off the M5, Exeter has a lot to offer, with a stunning coastline and picturesque moors within throwing distance of the city.

We are looking for new graduates who will be able to start in the summer, pending HCPC registration. Each area is supported by specialist physiotherapists and rotations may include general medicine and oncology, acute respiratory, healthcare for older people, intensive care and surgery, trauma, orthopaedics, acute stroke and stroke rehab, musculoskeletal out-patientsand community based rehabilitation and intermediate care in Exeter, mid and east Devon.

The post holder is responsible for providing physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis & treatment; and education & advice to patients, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team. There will be liaison with family, carers and external agencies to ensure safe and effective discharge of patients from the acute trust and/or appropriate transfer of care.We work with individuals across their treatmentpathway from admission avoidance, in-patient care, discharge support and on-going rehabilitation. We work closely with multidisciplinary teams and our colleagues in social care and other external agencies.

The post also holds a requirement to participate in the ‘on-call’ service and will include regular weekend commitments across seven days. The posts are based across the acute and community sites and therefore driving is essential.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
