An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced adult speech and language therapists to hone their skills working on the acute wards at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford).These wards include specialist respiratory and surgical wards, ICU and HDU, trauma and orthopaedics and a number of wards devoted to Healthcare for Older People. Working alongside4 wte speech and language therapists, you will enjoy the busy, fast-paced environment of an acute hospital, have a broad range of skills and knowledge, in particular highly developed diagnostic skills and the ability to work readily with a large number of different MDTs. Linking with these ward based MDTs, you will work collaboratively to ensure holistic, patient-centred interventions.
We are a strong, cohesive adult speech and language therapy service spanning acute, community and Learning Disabilities, with excellent systems in place for supervision, support and continuing professional development.
There are 2 fixed term posts available - one isfor7 months to backfill an internal secondment, and the other is for 6 months to support the Trust's winter capacity plan.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
