Job Title: Research Administrator
Reports to: Senior Research Nurse
Directorate: Research and Development
Location: Clinical Research Facility (RILD Building, Wonford)
Hours: Full time 37.5 hrs per week (negotiable)
Contract: Substantive (6 months probationary period to those new to the Trust)
Are you looking for an interesting, fast paced, rewarding administration role? The NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is a busy and developing department and needs an administrator to support the clinical nursing team.
The NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility supports and manages a range of research studies. We specialise in Experimental Medicine, Early Phase clinical trials and Translational research in both common and rare diseases. We cover many disease areas including dementia, diabetes, cardiology, vascular health, respiratory health, cardiovascular disease and addictive behaviours.
The role is varied and in addition to routine administration, duties will include managing study Site Files, planning & occasional attendance at multidisciplinary meetings with research teams throughout the UK and managing the Nursing Teams clinical bookings for dementia studies as well as the possibility of supporting a others studies.
This dynamic role would suit someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and someone who can positively make a valued contribution towards the service that the Department provides. We are therefore looking for someone who can remain calm under pressure, who is able to prioritise their own busy workload in line with meeting deadlines and targets, who enjoys being part of a team, who can demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills and who is naturally empathetic.
Attention to detail and accuracy are essential and you will need to be able to work with internal and external staff at all levels. An ability to work independently and take the initiative as appropriate are also requirements of this varied and interesting post.
The successful applicant will be based in the Clinical Research Facility in Research Innovation Learning and Development building (RILD). He/she will provide support to the clinical nursing team to ensure that high quality services are being delivered within all areas of the department and within research projects. He/she will be supported in the role by the Senior Nurses and all other team members.
