An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly nurse led team at the South Devon Satellite Kidney Unit. Recently rated "outstanding" by CQC,we are a 24 station haemodialysis unit based on the edge of Torbay, surrounded by the beautiful South Devon Coast and the rolling Dartmoor hills. We provide regular life- sustaining treatment for over 100 patients in this locality, as part of the Royal Devon and Exeter Renal Unit. Supported by regular visits from our Consultants, Dieticians and specialist nurses based at the main unit in Exeter, along with a dedicatedSpecialist Clinical Practice Educator to support you through a supernumerary training period acquiring the necessary skills for haemodialysis.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual who will relish this diverse and in-depth role as an integral part of a service striving to deliver excellent care through regular audit and involvement in research, as well as promoting patient independence through self and shared care. With a variety of specialist areas, an acute ward, day-case unit, and home therapies programme, there are many opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge, and plenty of support to help you develop a career in renal nursing.
We are one of 4 satellite units for the Royal Devon and Exeter Renal unit, with locations based in Honiton and Exeter. Travel is occasionally required therefore a drivers licence is essential for this post, and access to a vehicle is preferable. Our shifts are 7.30-18.30 or 12.00 to 23.00 Monday through to Saturday, dialysis units are closed on Sundays, Christmas Day and New Years day.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
