The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint to expand its progressive Respiratory Department. We are a committed, ambitious, welcoming and cohesive group of colleagues with a broad range of expertise. We offer regional services in cystic fibrosis, asthma, EBUS, andinterstitial lung disease, together with medical thoracoscopy as well as all the usual respiratory sub-specialities. We have a strong academic focus and work closely with the University of Exeter: we have an academic clinical lecturer and fellow, an NIHR clinical research fellow, a pleural fellow and several PhD students; we have a strong presence in clinical trials with an international reputation. We have an excellent and expanding team of specialist nurses, physiotherapists and we are developing several advanced care practitioner roles.
We highly value clinical ability and pride ourselves on high quality patient care. We are looking for a candidate to strengthen or compliment the services we offer.We are looking primarily for the right person and what they offer to the department. This could be through subspecialty expertise (for instance to support our regional asthma service, our expanding COPD admission avoidance service, the ventilation service or ILD or an interest in infection), or a specific interest in research or education.
We look after 55 base respiratory beds and a respiratory HDU; we provide specialist respiratory take and therefore there is no expectation to be involved in unselected acute medical take (unless you specifically wish to be).
As part of our engagement in the work of the Devon Sustainability & Transformation Partnership, the RD&E is working increasingly closely with local provider organisations in a networked approach to clinical service delivery. We are specifically developing links with North Devon Hospital , and provide a number of regional services to our neighbouring trusts.
