Are you looking for a leadership opportunity? Are you a Band Five Community Nurse looking for development or a Band six nurse who wishes to change direction?

We have 2 Nurse Specialist (Community) roles available within the Exeter Community Nursing service.

Both of which are leadership posts which offeran opportunityfor an experienced Community Nurse to leada teamof Community nurses in a City practice covering a wide geographical area delivering care to patients in their own home and other settings.

The Postholder will offer direction and day to day leadership and professional supervision to unregistered and registered nursing staff in the team. Aiming, wherever possible, to enable people to maximise their independence and optimise their quality of life whilst remaining at home and preventing admission to hospital.

Working under the direction of the Nurse Team Manager (Community) and using leadership skills and knowledge you will lead and manage a group of Registered Band Five, unregistered nurses and other staff who may be working in the team.

The Postholder will also be expected to provide professional input in audit completion to inform future practice.

The successful candidate would be expected to be educated to degree level or working towards a degree qualification, provide evidence of continual Professional development and have a teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience. Prescribing and leadership qualifications would be desirable. If this has not been achieved then the successful candidate would be expected to complete these qualifications as part of their development in this role.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of current issues relating Primary Care, Community Nursing, Social care and integration.

The successful candidate Postholder must be a very experienced Community nurse with current clinical competencies relating to Community Nursing.
