This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Acute NHS Foundation Trust and University Teaching Hospital as a Clinical Lead physiotherapist in neuro-rehabilitation. The post holder is responsible for supporting the leadership of physiotherapy team within neurological rehabilitation at the Mardon Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit. The post holder will also provide, if required, advice to other teams in the Trust about patients with neurological issues based in other inpatient ward areas, particularly Bolham ward. This is a part time post and is required to work 8.15-4.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday.

The post holder will provide specialist assessment and interventions for a complex caseload demonstrating specialist clinical reasoning skills and be able to apply a range of clinical rehabilitation interventions depending on the assessment findings. He/she will take actively participate in multi-disciplinary activities, taking a lead when required. He/she will have specialist knowledge and communicate complex condition related information to patients, relative and carers. This role will include in facilitating timely discharges to be achieved by the service.

This position is based at the Trust’s main site, the Royal Devon & ExeterHospital (Wonford), within a specialist clinical area covered by the Medical Directorate.

The post-holder is responsible for his/her own workload within the designated clinical area; for the assessment and treatment of patients on a day-to-day basis; supporting themanagement and supervision of the physiotherapy team. Caseloads will be flexible and at times will involve the provision of service to other areas of the Trust. This will occur particularly when working respiratory on call and at weekends.
