An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior Healthcare Assistant to work as part of a small team, working across multiple sites based in a variety of hospital buildings across East and Mid Devon.

The base will be at Exmouth Community Hospital, (with flexibility to have base at Axminster,orTiverton Community Hospitals) you will be expected to provide excellent care and support to the patients using our services, with responsibility for chaperoning, and supporting the clinic lead . To provide patient care as directed by an RGN an in accordance with the specifications of each patients care needs.You will need to be ableundertake skilled nursing activities for which training and competency assessment has been undertaken .To participate in the implementation of improvements to working methods and practices.An ability to be flexible and responsive and work as a part of the team is essential. An interest in a variety of clinics- including eyes,is essential.

An ability to ensure accurate record keeping is essential and be able to demonstrate good levesl of communication.

The service provides a variety of clinics, in multiple settings from Monday to Friday. Times of clinics may vary between 8am-6pm.

Availability to drive is essential and willingness to work in different areas.

You will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme. training and support with comeptencies.

You will have an NVQ3 or higher in Health and Social Care and experience of working with older people. Competency in IT will also be of benefit.

There may be occasions when you would be lone working, although support is always available from your colleagues and Senior Nurse.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
