Are you looking for the opportunity to develop your skills in a forward-thinking and innovative pharmacy aseptic team?

We have a new aseptic unit providing adult and paediatric chemotherapy, adult, paediatric and neonatal parenteral nutrition, clinical trials medication and a centralised intravenous additive service. This role, accountable to the Principal Pharmacist – Technical Services , will include; co-ordinating the daily workload within the aseptic unit for the technician product approvers, contributing to the maintenance and development of work systems and assisting in the management, training and supervision of aseptic unit staff, as we seek to attain an MHRA production license. The team of aseptic pharmacists also support the diagnostic radiopharmacy service hosted by the Nuclear Medicine department.

The successful candidate will have good interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills. To be eligible for the Band 8A position you should possess a postgraduate qualification in pharmacy technology and quality assurance (PTQA) or equivalent. Otherwise a development Band 7 post is available which will allow the successful candidate to complete the PTQA course and gain experience in this specialist field. You will need to have excellent communication with the team and be able to work unsupervised to meet specific deadlines. Excellent team-working is also a priority and will contribute to service development and innovation within the aseptic team, driven by your own initiative and enthusiasm.

Experience within a cancer services/aseptic role in a hospital setting is essential. Please see the Job description and/or person specification for further details.

Hours: 37.5

Salary: Band 7 £33,222 to £43,041

Band 8a £42,414 to £49,969
