The Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) section within the Pharmacy Department support, the ‘Specials’ pre-packing licensed manufacturing activity (EPS), the Aseptic Services unit, the Pharmacy Distribution section and the Radiopharmacy unit in ensuring drug safety, efficacy and quality are maintained.

This is achieved by incorporating Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidance and complying with the various regulatory requirements that are in place.

The Royal Devon and Exeter Trust have invested in a new aseptic manufacturing unit in which the QA Section will be supporting the activity within this new building.

A new position has been funded to support the increasing output of the ‘Specials’ pre-packing licensed manufacturing activity (EPS) and therefore the increased workload within the QA/QC section.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in the release of pre-packed products produced under the Manufacturers Specials (MS) Licence, writing, approving and implementing validation protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs), generating and progressing reports on non-conformance records, training and assisting with the environmental monitoring and when necessary partake in external and internal audits to ensure continuous improvement.

At minimum, they will be a registered pharmacy technician or registered pharmacist or have a background in science to degree level (or equivalent) and be registered with Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology. Experience working in a GMP environment is desirable, training will be provided where necessary. We are looking for a keen, enthusiastic individual with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, communicate well.

Hours: 37.5 Hours

Salary: £28,050 - £36,644
