RD&E NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting to the position of Head of Legal Services. The post holder will provide the Trust with expert legal and practical advice in the area of healthcare law requiring excellent time management, prioritisation, professionalism and pragmatism with the ability to clearly communicate highly contentious, highly complex and highly sensitive information in a demanding environment that is frequently emotive and patient focused. As well as managing clinical negligence claims and Inquests, the post holder will be in a leadership role in managing and supervising staff in the legal department, and be expected to provide practical legal advice and deliver training/presentations to clinicians. This is a challenging role in a busy department that provides robust legal advice and protection 24/7 365 day per year to a large complex Trust and its staff. The post holder will have significant responsibility and in light of the department’s workload will be expected to learn quickly and work efficiently. This is a fantastic and unique opportunity with exposure to some of the most interesting, complex and high-profile work in the NHS within a long-established in-house legal team.
