NUCLEAR MEDICINE SENIOR CLINICAL TECHNOLOGIST /RADIOGRAPHER AFC BAND 6 ROYAL DEVON AND EXETER HOSPITAL (WONFORD)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to join our friendly team of Radiographers/Technologists and nurses in this Foundation Trust Hospital. Based within the modern Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital site at Wonford, the department performs a wide range of Nuclear Medicine examinations; around 2500 examinations per year, approximately 75% of which are for Oncology patients. The department is equipped with two GE gamma cameras, one of which is a hybrid SPECT/CT machine, and an in-house Radiopharmacy.

We anticipate installing a second SPECT/CT machine within the next year. Successful applicants will take an active part in imaging, data processing and radiopharmaceutical manufacture and dispensing on a Rota basis in the Radiopharmacy. Assisting with or performing administration of Radiopharmaceuticals is also part of the role. This is a senior technologist post in Nuclear Medicine at a Post Graduate level. We would expect the successful applicant to have (or be working towards) a relevant post graduate qualification. For less experienced applicants, appointment at a lower band may be possible and training will be provided. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team or autonomously are essential requirements for appointment. There is also a research PET scanner being installed nearby by Exeter University and there may be opportunities to work in this area.

Exeter itself is a small intimate city brimming with character and steeped in history. Whilst it offers a wide variety of facilities and a vibrant city life, Exeter is within a short drive of Dartmoor and the Devon coast.

To achieve our vision we expect all our staff to uphold our Trust values. Our Trust values are: Honesty, Openness & Integrity Fairness, Inclusion & Collaboration Respect & Dignity
