The Seaton, Axminster and Sidmouth Cluster has an attractive mix of rural villages and coastal towns whilst being only 30mins drive from Exeter. The Cluster is set in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, and part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The largest landslip in the UK provides the landscape for coastal walks, fishing harbours and beautiful beaches. Inland, the market town of Axminster provides excellent rail links to London and Exeter. We have an exciting opening for enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our community team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking service with high morale and a commitment to supporting people at home.

You will be well supported and encouraged to continuously develop to meet the needs of yourself and the service. We offer flexibility in working patterns, term time or seasonal contracts, free parking and the chance to practice with true autonomy. The post is rotational between the ward, urgent care response and the community rehabilitation team. Duties will include assessing and treating patients who have a wide range of neurological conditions, those that are frequent fallers and complex patients who have multi pathology including dementia. The emphasis will be on providing rehabilitation, preventing hospital admissions and supporting the early supported discharge process from hospital. The successful candidates will work closely with Community & Specialist Nursing Colleagues, the Adult Social Care team, General Practitioners, Sidmouth community hospital and the acute hospital, as well as with other therapists within the Integrated Health Team.
