JOBTTILE: Specialist Optometrist with an interest in Medical Retina/Macula TYPE: Substantive. 35 hours per week. Part time considered. SALARY: Band 7 (Band 6 considered depending on experience) LOCATION: Optometry/Ophthalmology Department WEEU ROYAL DEVON & EXETER HOSPITAL Applications are invited for the post of Specialist Optometrist to cover 8 sessions per week. The post will include a range of core, specialist and extended role Optometric sessions. Previous hospital experience in medical retina,paediatrics and adult and children’s low visionis desirable but not essential as training will be provided. The assigned banding of the post will reflect the level of experience and higher qualifications held by the candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within this regional centre of excellence and join an expanding team of 10 Ophthalmologists and 6 Optometrists, Specialist Nurse Practitioners, Orthoptists and support staff.

Applicants able to work 35 hours per week are preferred but part time will be considered. The successful candidate will be GOC registered, enthusiastic, flexible and willing to take on Optometric extended roles under the supervision of a Consultant Ophthalmologist and supported by a multi-professional team.
