This is an opportunity open for an Operating Department Theatre Health Care Assistantwho currently has the additional Scrub units at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Contributing to the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Theatre Matron or nominated deputy. The Health Care Assistant will work as part of a team, delivering health care that focuses on the direct need of service users. They will work autonomously within the clearly defined boundaries of their Scrub Health Care Assistant role and carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities that may cross professional demarcations of care. You will be working flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team whose duties will include: undertaking movement and escorting of patients, cleaning and restocking the Operating Theatres, working within the theatre in a circulating capacity and transportation of specimens. General Theatres undertake a wide range of specialities in both the elective and emergency settings including Orthopaedic Trauma, ENT, Max Fax, Plastics, Vascular, General Surgery inc. Upper GI/Colo-rectal and Urology and we require flexible, motivated and committed team members who are capable of delivering high quality, patient-focussed care within a busy, progressive and varied department. This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with Trust policy successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
