Radiographic Assistants work closely with radiographers, ultra-sonographers and consultant radiologists in providing quality care to patients attending for diagnostic procedures.We are looking for individuals who have a flexible approach to working, are caring, kind and compassionate, and happy to work as part of a large but inclusive team. As a radiography assistant or imaging support worker, you'll work with the above professionals to: process film images order stocks of consumable items help with procedures such as biopsies make sure the working environment is clean and hygienic prepare patients for imaging or treatment, including lifting patients check the equipment and report faults input data Radiography assistants and imaging support workers need to be: very safety conscious interested in technology calm and reassuring able to understand and follow instructions exactly physically fit as the job involves a lot of standing and lifting confident working on computers You'll also need: good communication skills good observation skills ability to keep up to date and learn new skills The role involves working from 8am to 8pm with a variety a shifts covering these hours 7 days a week to provide a top quality service to the people of Devon. The post holder will rotate between working in our ultrasound rooms, MRI scanners, CT scanners, General X-ray rooms, Special procedures and within our PACs (Image Archiving) team.
