Specialist Services Pharmacy Department ROYAL DEVON & EXETER HOSPITAL (WONFORD) Band 8A Specialist Pharmacist Prescriber – Trauma and Orthopaedics and Pain Services REF: 185-A-18-61646 CLOSING DATE: 29th October 2018 We are looking for an innovative and experienced pharmacist to join the team providing pharmaceutical care to our patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery and to work closely with the pain services team.

The Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is an 800-bed teaching hospital with a pharmacy team of 130 staff. We are recognised as a high performing Trust with a reputation for delivering quality patient care and have recently received a good rating by the Care Quality Commission. The postholder will work closely with clinicians and nursing colleagues to support and promote the safe and effective use of medicines across the division as well as ensuring the cost effective use of resources. They will also be required to support and develop our team of rotational junior pharmacists. It is an exciting time to join the team as the Trauma and Orthopaedics service is undergoing modernisation, providing an opportunity to develop the pharmacy service provided for the elective patient pathway.

The right person will have a proven track record in the specialty and the appetite to evolve the service in this patient group. You must be highly self-motivated, able to demonstrate leadership skills and have the ability to plan and work, both independently and as part of the wider healthcare team, to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients. You should also be willing to complete the non-medical prescribing qualification if not already qualified.
