The Estates Department is looking for an experienced carpenter/joiner craftsperson to join their dynamic team in the day to day maintenance of the Hospital. The successful applicant will be involved in a variety of works associated with maintenance, refurbishiment and small internal rebuilds in the building, construction and wood trades. You should be able to demonstrate suitable skills in the operation of woodworking machinery and associated handtools, the manufacturing window/door/access frames, the installation of stud partitioning, and the repair and maintenance of building associated structures and equipment using wood, plastics, laminates and other related composite materials Have the ability to undertake immediate and effective repairs to all building/construction structures and equipment with the minimum supervision and working in compliance with all relevant statutory obligations, good practice guidelines and working to specifications, drawings and operational maintenance manuals. The successful applicant must be able to apply a high degree of attention to detail whilst working on structures and equipment and also be precise in the recording of relevant information. The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of building services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities of a very busy directorate and to be part of a team that is constantly working to improve the quality and safety of the Trust's healthcare facilities. Participation in an out of hours on-call system is required and a willingness to work flexible hours when required would be expected. Previous experience in a similar environment would be desirable. Salary: Band 3 (£16,968 - £19,852) plus on-call allowances. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Our vision is to provide safe, high quality seamless services delivered with courtesy and respect.
