Senior Clinical Fellow Closes 10th May 2018 This post supports the increased demands of the Colorectal service and offers the appointee considerable opportunity for gaining specialist clinical and surgical exposure.
It is ideally suited for either a post-CCT trainee wishing to gain additional experience prior to consultant appointment, or an individual seeking to gain enhanced skills at the ST3+ (registrar level). The training and responsibilities of the post will be tailored for the appointee.
The Exeter Colorectal Unit provides a full range of colorectal services. The following subspecialties are therefore covered: Core colorectal surgery and diagnostics Laparoscopy colorectal surgery Advanced Pelvic oncology Functional bowel disease/Pelvic Floor Disease Intestinal failure and complex inflammatory bowel disease including pouch surgery. Problem stomas Complex abdominal wall reconstruction surgery The Colorectal team consist of 8 consultant surgeons who form the integrated Emergency General Surgery rota in addition to 3 Upper GI surgeons.
The post-holder will have an allocated educational and clinical supervisor, and is available as soon as possible for a period of six months dependent on start date, subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement may be extended further.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
